Canada Gold – Ottawa West hosted a successful Coin Exchange event this past weekend, welcoming collectors, families, and members of the local community for a two day event celebrating this year’s Commemorative Coin Collection from the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM). The event featured several notable commemorative coins issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, including the Daphne Odjig $2 commemorative coin, the $2 coin honouring the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the $1 coin celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Supreme Court of Canada.
Event Overview
The event provided an opportunity for attendees to visit Canada Gold’s brand new Ottawa West location in Carlingwood Shopping Centre and connect with our team as they made their way through the line and participated in the coin exchange. Visitors were met with bags of the 2025 coins, bags including the 2024 commemorative coins, as well as exclusive sale items and a look at the signature jewellery line from our sister company, 100 Ways.

2025
- Daphne Odjig $2 Coin: This release recognizes the achievements of Daphne Odjig, a pioneering Indigenous artist. The coin’s design reflects her signature artistic style and her contributions to advancing Indigenous representation in Canadian art.
- Tomb of the Unknown Soldier $2 Coin: The $2 coin marks the 25th anniversary of the repatriation of Canada’s Unknown Soldier and the completion of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the National War Memorial in Ottawa.
- 150th Anniversary of the Supreme Court of Canada $1 Coin: Marking a key milestone in Canadian legal history, this coin celebrates the Supreme Court’s enduring role in upholding justice, fairness, and the rule of law since its founding in 1875.

- L.M Montgomery $1 Coin: Celebrating a Canadian Literary Icon, this coin celebrates Author L.M Montgomery’s life and her most famous book, Anne of Green Gables.
- Royal Canadian Airforce 100th Anniversary $2 coin: Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Airforce and all those who have served and continue to serve our country.
- Inuit Nunangat $2 Coin: This coin invites all people living in Canada to celebrate and learn more about Inuit Nunangat, as well as the distinct ways of life and rich and vital culture of Inuit.
Each coin served as both a collectible and an educational piece, highlighting the RCMs ongoing commitment to producing designs that reflect Canada’s diverse heritage and values.

The Canada Gold – Ottawa West Coin Exchange was more than just an opportunity to access newly issued commemorative coins. Throughout the event, Canada Gold hosted a series of interactive contests and activities designed to engage collectors, families, and first-time attendees alike. Coin Exchange Photo Challenge
To extend the experience beyond the store, attendees were invited to join our Coin Exchange Photo Challenge. Participants shared photos of their commemorative coins on social media and tagged Canada Gold for a chance to win additional prizes.
